Chambers OCNS - April 25, 2000 - Mr. Kenneth J. Chambers, 65, of Dewey, Oklahoma died at 12:43 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the Hillcrest , Medical Center in Tulsa. Memorial services for Mr. Chambers will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday at the Dewey United Methodist Church with Reverend Don Simpson officiating. Memorial services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home. .d Mr. Chambers was born on October 27, 1934 at Galena, Missouri to Robert and Elsie (Bailey) Chambers. He grew up and received his education at Galena until leaving school in the eleventh grade to join the U.S. Navy with several of his buddies. He r served in the U.S. Navy until receiving his Honorable Discharge on December 27, 1968 after serving over 15 years. He was married to Rosetta Marie McDougal in January of 1969 in North Carolina. Following his military discharge, they made their home at Cherokee, Kansas while they both worked at a printing plant in Girard, Kansas. In 1973 they moved to Dewey, Oklahoma where Mr. Chambers was employed at Central States Printing for 19 years until his retirement due to ill health in 1992. He was a member of the Dewey United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children. Mr. Chambers is survived by his wife, Rosetta Chambers of Dewey, four children, Vickie Wilson of Norfolk, Virginia, Kenny Chambers of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Tiffany Chambers and Kasey Chambers of the home in Dewey, two grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Bailey Chambers, his father, Robert Chambers, and two brothers, Kurt Chambers, and Butch Chambers.
