The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ KENNETH WAYNE WHITAKER OCNS-December 11, 1999 - Kenneth Wayne Whitaker, 58, native area resident and former employee of National Zinc Company and the Bartelsville, Oklahoma Y.W.C.A. died at 11:20 p.m., Wednesday, December 8, in Bartlesville. Mr. Whitaker was born July 23, 1941 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, the son of Kenneth Wayne Whitaker Sr., and Catherine (Wilson) Whitaker. He was reared in Pawhuska where he received his education. He and the former Joyce Baker were married. March 26, 1981, Mr. Whitaker and Linda Lea King were married at Miami, Oklahoma and made their first home in Bartlesville. He was employed with National Zinc in Bartlesville for nine years and with the Y.W.C.A. from 1982 until 1987 and again from June 23, 1988 until November 24, 1999. Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home in Bartlesville; four daughters, Mrs. Russell (Patricia) Cox of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Mrs. Brian (Sharon Kay) Harp, Miss Stephanie Marie Whitaker and Miss Tiffany Marie Whitaker all of Bartlesville; two sons, Wesley Wayne Whitaker and Travis Wayne Whitaker, both of Bartlesville; five grand children, his mother, Mrs. Catherine Whitaker and one sister, Mrs. Junior (Helen) Ostickenburg, both of Bartlesville. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Mrs. Mary Cork. Mr. Whitaker will lie in state in the Drawing Rooms of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence at 621 South Johnstone, Bartlesville where friends may call for their visitation until he is removed for graveside rites which will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 13, 1999 in the Pawhuska, Oklahoma, City Cemetery with The Reverend Mike McDougan officiating under the direction of Arnold Moore Funeral Service. A memorial service and evening meal for family and friends will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday at the Bartlesville Y.W.C.A., 411 South Johnstone.
