EADS OCNS - June 24, 2002 - Kenneth B. Eads, 84, native of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, June 21, 2002 in St. John Medical Center, Tulsa. Mr. Eads was born December 9, 1917, the son of John and Lucy (Tayiah) Eads. He attended school at Chilocco Indian School, north of Ponca City, Oklahoma, the Haskell Institute of Lawrence, Kansas, and Fort Wingate, New Mexico. Kenneth was employed by the Indian Forest Service at Warm Springs (?) before World War II. During the War he served in the Infantry in Europe where he received the Purple Heart and two Oak Leaves. He loved trapping and hunting and once published a book on taxidermy. He was a member of the Catholic Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #577 in Tulsa. Survivors include four children: Terussa Kennedy of Redmond, Oregon, Kennetha Moon of Sacramento, California, Katrinka Stalsworth of Nashville, Tennessee and John Eads of Nebraska City, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and other family and friends. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 25, at 2:00 p.m., in the Pawhuska City Cemetery with Father Leonard Higgins of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church officiating. Johnson Funeral Home, Pawhuska, is in charge of arrangements.
