The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LEROY COBB OCNS - April 2, 2002 - Mr. Leroy Cobb, 82, longtime Osage County resident and oil production worker, died Sunday morning (March 31) at his family residence in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. A native of Osage County, Oklahoma, Leroy was born at Hominy, Oklahoma, on August 13, 1919, the son of Chester Leroy and Liza Bell (Callison) Cobb and was reared and completed his education in Hominy. He was employed as a roustabout and pumper in oil field production in Osage County. He and Mrs. Dorothy Jane "Dolly" (Lindsey) Starling were married December 9, 1957, at Sedan, Kansas, and established their home in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Mrs. Cobb was employed at the Washington County Memorial Hospital in Bartlesville, as a nurse. In 1963, the Cobb family moved to the Wrangle Heights Addition in Barnsdall and Mr. Cobb continued his employment in oil production until he retired in 1971. Mrs. Cobb was employed by Mr. And Mrs. Earl Taylor until she retired in 1985. Mr. & Mrs. Cobb continued living in retirement in Barnsdall until Mrs. Cobb's death on December 16, 1995. Mr. Cobb continued living in Barnsdall. Mr. Cobb was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: His sons, Bobby Lee Cobb, Victor Ray Cobb and wife, Lauri, all of Bartlesville; three grandchildren, Mrs. Jennifer Jane Sinks and husband, Michael of Barnsdall; Victor Ray Cobb, Jr., and Deanna Marie Cobb, Bartlesville; two great grandchildren, Miranda Dorothea Sinks and Ryan Michael Sinks, Barnsdall; one sister, Mrs. Louise Haines, Pawhuska, Oklahoma; and Lawrence "Pete" Cobb of Tulsa. Leroy Cobb will lie in state in the Arnold Moore-Barnsdall Funeral Home until the service hour on Wednesday. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Blackburn Cemetery, Blackburn, Oklahoma (west of Hominy), with Reverend Edgar Beaver officiating. Committal prayers and final rites will be directed by the Arnold Moore-Barnsdall Funeral Home.
