DEMOSS OCNS - Archives - Lelah E. DeMoss, longtime resident of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, died December 26, 1992 in Heritage Manor Convalescent Center, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, following an extended illness. Graveside rites were held December 28, 1992 in the Pawhuska City Cemetery with Reverend Larry Wallace officiating. Born December 28, 1904 in Yonkers, Oklahoma, the daughter of Daniel H. and Martha Cordelia (Holland) Hatfield, she married Estel D. DeMoss on December 8, 1924 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1981. Lelah was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pawhuska and a former member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and the Pawhuska Hospital Volunteers. She was a retired sales clerk with C.R. Anthony Company in Pawhuska. Surviving were two daughters, Mrs. William A. (Twyla) Tinker of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Virgil (Virginia Ann) Walker of Bartlesville; one brother, Clem Hatfield of Hominy, Oklahoma; three sisters, Virginia Ingersoll and Cornelia Kafer, both of Pawhuska and Juanita Barrett of Tulsa; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Johnson Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements.
