The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LILLIE LEOTA (SANFORD) BEAVER OCNS - June 27, 2002 - Mrs. Lillie Leota (Sanford) Beaver, 90, widow of William Beaver and a former long time resident of Barnsdall, Oklahoma, died at 9:15 p.m., Monday, June 24, in the Prague, Oklahoma Municipal Hospital. funeral services were held Thursday, June 27, in the First Baptist Church of Barnsdall with Reverend James Brunk officiating. Committal prayers and interment were directed in the Ethel Reese Cemetery by the Arnold Moore-Barnsdall Funeral Home. A native of Arkansas, Lillie Leota Sanford was born October 26, 1911 at Waldron, the daughter of Walter H. and Hattie (Ford) Sanford and at the age of five moved with her family to the Barnsdall community. where she attended the public schools. She graduated with the Barnsdall High School Senior Class of 1929 and she and William C. Beaver were married December 24, 1930 in Barnsdall. They made their first home in West Virginia and following Mr. Beaver's U.S. Navy career they returned to Barnsdall to make their home. Mr. Beaver was an employee of the Great Lakes Pipeline Company which later became the Williams Pipe Line Company. Leota was an employee of the Hightower Grocery and the Wells Foodliner for over twenty years. the Beavers had also operated the Shell service station in Barnsdall. Mr. Beaver preceded her in death on October 22, 1991 in Barnsdall and Mrs. Beaver moved to Prague in 1999 to be near family. She was a member of the Barnsdall First Baptist Church. Survivors include two nephews, Joe Milligan and wife, Betty of Prague and Donald Milligan and wife Ann of Fairfield, Texas, and other nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bill Sanford and a sister, Mrs. Lois Milligan.
