Lela was born August 28, 1924 in Mowdy, Oklahoma, the daughter of Benny and Nolie (Ray) Ennis and on May 3, 1942, she married Gordon M. Maloy in Coalgate, Oklahoma. She touched many lives with the compassionate care she gave during her sixty years of nursing. She was a volunteer coordinator for the Candy Striper Programs at the hospitals in Hominy, Oklahoma and Ada, Oklahoma, was a counselor for the Bluebird Organization and had been Director of Nursing at the Pawhuska Nursing Home for many years. Survivors are: her husband, Gordon M. Maloy of the home in Pawhuska; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Mark Nichols of Ponca City, Oklahoma; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Gordon and Linda Maloy of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Keith Ray and Lesta Maloy of Skiatook, Oklahoma. Also eight grandchildren: Colbie and Troy Branstetter of Copan, Oklahoma; Andrew and Michelle Maloy and Shea and Esther Murillo, all of Skiatook, Oklahoma, and Larry, Jr. and Starla Maloy of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five great grandchildren, Jordan and Shelbie Branstetter; Leah and Lara Maloy; and Dakota, Dalton and Gabriel Murillo; a brother and sister-in-law, Perry and Alene Ennis of Andrews, Texas; a sister, Jessie Bowerman of Coalgate, Oklahoma, numerous nieces, nephews, special friends and other family members. Services were held Monday, April 9, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Judge B. David Gambill officiating. Interment was in the Pawhuska City Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
