HENDRIX OCNS - September 4, 2002 - Funeral services for Lois B. Hendrix, 77, who died at 10:20 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2002 at the Francis Strietel Nursing Home in Collinsville, Oklahoma, were held Tuesday, September 3, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, with Pastor Jerald Freeman and Reverend Thomas Smith officiating. Interment was in the Osage Gardens Cemetery, Skiatook, under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home. Lois was born December 20, 1924 in Vian, Oklahoma to Alec and Maudie Mae (Bledsoe) Cantrell. She grew up and received her education in Vian and in 1983, received her G.E.D. in Tulsa. She married Ermel Davis Hendrix December 26, 1939 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Lois was in Foster Care for over thirty years and was in retail sales for Anthony's for three years. Survivors include: Her husband, Ermel of the home; three daughters, Dorthy Mae Walker, Wanema Louise Roberts and Lynda Kay Evans; one brother, Dalton Cantrell; eight grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters. Casket escorts were Brandon Lewis, Douglass Gilfred, Daniel Miller, David Miller, Larry Moore, J.W. Roberts, Alan Huffstutler and Robert Drummond. Honorary casket escorts were Ted Bragg and Kenneth Chupps. Music was performed by Shelly Davis and Debbie Meeks.
