"WINNIE" PACE OCNS - April 1, 2000 - Funeral services will be Monday, April 3, at 10:00 a.m., in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, for Winnie Pace, 72, who passed away March 30, at the Pawhuska Hospital following a prolonged illness. Winnie was born November 29, 1927 in Newby, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jessie B. and Mattie Lee (Harris) Jones and, on August 18, 1946 in Magdalena, New Mexico, married Walter H. "Dub" Pace, Jr. who preceded her in death. The couple moved to Pawhuska in 1958. Winnie was formerly employed at The Packing House Market, as a secretary to The Osage County Election Board and operated a telephone answering service, but most of all she was a housewife and mother, before failing health forced her retirement. A family member, referring to her long illness, was quoted as saying, "she fought a good fight and won". She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are her children: Beva and her husband, Ronnie Cummings of Chandler, Oklahoma; Rhonda and her husband, Fred Gordineer of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Linda and her husband, David Reiger of Dewey, Oklahoma; Bill Pace of Chandler; Pat Pace of Montrose, Colorado; Wally and Krissy Pace of Pawhuska and Beth Ann Pace of Barnsdall, Oklahoma; a sister, Oleta Plummer of Fairfax, Oklahoma; Also her grandchildren: Sundance Burgess, Kala Burgess, Jarryd Smith, Carla Reiger, Damon Pace, Sterling Pace, Abby Pace, Tanner Pace, Spencer Pace, Calvin Cummings, Connie Blanchard, Todd Reiger and Tammy Haack; And her great grandchildren; Crystal Burgess, Coltin Burgess, Danica Burgess, J.R. Burgess, Christopher Burgess, Bailee Rae Smith, Bradyn John Smith, Courtney Cummings, Justin Faitz, Austin Reiger and Kelsi Haack. And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister. Lawrence Redding will officiate at Monday's services under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Directors.
