LANIE OCNS - September 15, 2002 - Lawrence M. Lanie, 96, longtime resident of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2002 in the Silver Lake Care Center, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Mr. Lanie was born January 21, 1906 in Remington, Indiana, the son of William and Dulcine (Marquis) Lanie. December 4, 1930, in Manchester, Oklahoma, he married Eleanor Stevenson. Mr. Lanie was a farmer and rancher in Grant, Kay and Osage Counties (Oklahoma) for thirty-eight years and had served on the Board of Directors for the Federal Land Bank. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Forresters, the Moose Lodge and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pawhuska. Survivors include: His wife of seventy-one years, Eleanor Lanie of the home in Pawhuska; three daughters, Lois Massaro and husband, Virgil, of Houston, Texas, Lauree Carriger and husband, Lonnie, of Pawhuska and Joyce Wooldridge of Olathe, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great- grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a host of other family and friends. Rosary for Mr. Lanie will be said at 7:30 p.m., Monday, September 16, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Pawhuska. Mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 17, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pawhuska with Father Leonard Higgins officiating. Interment will be in the Pawhuska City Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home of Pawhuska is in charge of arrangements.
