Powell Memorial Cemetery--Hominy OK LYDIA MAY SANDERS OCNS - September 30, 2002 - Lydia May Sanders, 62, was born February 19, 1940 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, to Albert Lee Deist, Sr., and Virgie Irene Colvin. She entered into rest September 23, 2002 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lydia is survived by her daughter Lisa Hunt and husband, Jim Hand of Ponca City, Oklahoma; three sons, Craig Sanders of Ponca City, Brad Sanders and wife, Angela, of Moore, Oklahoma, Christopher Sanders and wife, Kristin, of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Ann Cason of McKinney, Texas, Fern Ballard of Hominy, Oklahoma and Dorothy Siler of Cushing, Oklahoma; two brothers, Al Deist, Jr. of Mesquite, Texas and Noah Deist of Aberdeen, Scotland; four grandchildren, Jason Hunt, Derek Hunt, Carson Sanders and Breana Sanders; one great grandson, Ashton McNeese-Hunt; Aunt Mable and Uncle Dillard Ridenhour of Collinsville, Oklahoma and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. Lydia was reared in Hominy where she married Donald Dean Sanders and they started their family. She worked in retail and convenience store management and also worked as the First Baptist Church Secretary. In 1974 Lydia moved to Ponca City where she has since made her home. She loved and was loved by her family and will be dearly missed. Services for Lydia were held September 25, at the First Baptist Church in Hominy with burial in the A.J. Powel Memorial Cemetery, north of Hominy.
