CASTRO OCNS - June 27, 2002 - Funeral services will be held Friday, June 28, for Michael W. Castro, 46, a resident of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, who died unexpectedly Friday, June 21, in Pawhuska. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., in Strode Funeral Home Chapel, Stillwater, Oklahoma with interment to follow in the Perkins Cemetery, Perkins, Oklahoma. Mr. Castro was born October 6, 1955 in Martinez, California, the son of Walter and Evelyn (Pattison) Castro and moved with his family to Knightsen, California. He attended school in Brentwood, California and graduated from Liberty Union High School in 1973. March 24, 1975 in Reno, Nevada, he married Kathy M. McLain and the couple moved to Utah but later moved back to Brentwood. In December, 1975 they moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma then to Antioch, California to live while Mr. Castro worked for Triangle Pipe, Wire and Conduit (P.W.C.) in Pittsburg, California. In 1991 they moved back to Bartlesville where he worked as a truck driver for various companies including Bellco, W.S.T. and Webco in Mannford, Oklahoma. In 1999 they moved to Pawhuska where they lived at the time of his death. He will be remembered for his skills in lathe work and carving and for the time he spent working on and restoring cars. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors in addition to his wife, Kathy of the home include: His mother, Evelyn Castro of Santaquin, Utah; one son, Michael A. Castro and one daughter, Judi Walls, both of Pawhuska; three grandchildren, Dakota Walls, Kristofer Walls and William Walls all of Pawhuska; three brothers, John Castro of Ohio, Ronny Castro of California and Mark Castro of Ohio; three sisters, Anita Jewitt of Colorado, Mary Davis of Utah and Debbie Foreman of Ohio; twenty-one nieces, twenty nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
