Born Imogene Cecelia Jefferson in Fairfax on June 1, 1933, she was the daughter of Omer Jefferson, Sr. and Louise Butler Jefferson. She was reared in Fairfax and graduated from Ralston, Oklahoma, High School. She then attended four years at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, majoring in sociology. On June 11, 1951, Imogene was united in marriage to Belford Irons and the couple made their home in Fairfax. Imogene went to work for the City of Tulsa as a Clerical Clerk. May 18, 1983, Imogene was united in marriage to Donald Ray Bailey and the couple continued to make Fairfax their home. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and the Order of Eastern Star and she enjoyed her family. Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Christine and Charlie Roan of Sand Springs, Sylvia and Danny Butler of Campbellsville, Kentucky and Tincy and Butch Fish of Tulsa; two sons, Barry Irons of Ponca City and Jeff and wife, Theresa Irons of Oklahoma City; her grandson whom she raised as her own son, Michael and wife Allyson Irons of Stillwater, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Omer Jefferson, Jr. and two husbands. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 18, 2002, in the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home Chapel in Fairfax with the Reverend Lewis Bernard, Pastor of the Full Gospel Assembly officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home. Casket bearers will be John Holloway, Jr., King Bowman, Brad Irons, Jimmy Grigg, John Kolmonce and Dave Bennett. Honorary Casket bearers will be Bill Bennett and Brian Bennett. The family will be at 430 Mason Drive in Fairfax to receive Friends.
