She was born March 26, 1909 in Anadarko, Oklahoma the daughter of Jay P. and May (Smith) Van Meter and married Boyce Talbutt November 23, 1924 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Mr. Talbutt preceded her in death May 25, 1989. A retired U.S. Department of Commerce Editorial Assistant, Mildred was a member of The United Methodist Church in Enid Oklahoma, Hope Chapter No. 30, Order of The Eastern Star, Washington, D.C. and U.S. Department of Commerce Women's Club, Boulder, Colorado. Graveside services were held Monday, December 27, 1999 in The Pawhuska Cemetery with Delbert Milleson officiating under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Directors.
