All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Floral Haven Cemetery--Tulsa OK Surnames: MEAD, MARTIN, HAMILTON, KRANZ, HOUTS, KIRKLAND, KENNEDY, KLING, WATKINS, KING, ARMSTRONG, STEWART, HALL, KNUTSON Fulton Mead from 3-12-2003 Examiner Enterprise Mr. Fulton Mead, 87, a former resident of the Barnsdall and Avant area, died at his home in Arvada, Colorado on Saturday morning. Graveside final rites for Mr. Mead will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Floral Haven Cemetery, Tulsa, Okla. Mr. Leon R. Martin will be the officiant. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Floral Haven Cemetery by The Arnold Moore Funeral Service. Fulton Mead will lie in state in the Drawing Rooms of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence where friends may call for their visitation until he is removed to the cemetery for final rites on Thursday afternoon. A native of Nebraska, Fulton Mead was born on March 19, 1915 in Valentine. He was the son of the late Fred and Cecelia (Hamilton) Mead. In 1917 the family moved to Moville, Iowa and in 1922 they moved to Tamarack, Minnesota where he began his education in rural area schools. When he was 10 years of age his father died in an accident involving a felled tree. Fulton returned with his family members to Moville, Iowa where he completed his education and was employed on a farm there until 1937. He and Miss Anna Kranz were married in Pearson, Iowa in 1936 and she preceded him in death. On June 24, 1950, he and Miss Clara Bell Houts were married in Tulsa and established their home there. He was employed by Oklahoma Steel Castings Company. Fulton Mead and Miss Marie Kirkland were married in Miami, Okla. in 1966 and they made and continued their home in Tulsa where Mr. Mead was retired from Oklahoma Steel Castings in 1973. Mrs. Mead preceded him in death in Tulsa in March 1973. Mr. Mead moved to Avant, Oklahoma in 1988 to be near family, and had a brief residence in 1996 in Barnsdall, Okla. Later that same year he moved to Arvada, Colorado to make his home near his son, Dennis Mead and family. He was of the Lutheran faith. Mr. Mead is survived by his sons, Dennis Roy and his wife, Willie Rene Mead, Golden, Colorado and David Lee and his wife, Janet Mead, Lakewood, Colorado; his daughters, Mrs. Carol L. Kennedy and her husband, Robert "Bob" Kennedy, Aurora, Colorado and Ms. Karen S. Kling, Mesa, Arizona; his other children, Teddy D. Mead, Gloria J. Watkins, Robert C. King, Ronald G. King, Mardie Ann Armstrong, Sandra L. Stewart and Ora O. King; two brothers, Fallace Mead and Freeland Mead; one sister, Mrs. Fayne (Mead) Hall; 30 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
