The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MARJORIE RUTH GERMAN OCNS - April 24, 2001 - Marjorie Ruth German, 78, long-time resident of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, April 22, in the Pawhuska Nursing Home. Marjorie was born January 30, 1923 in Wynona, Oklahoma, the daughter of James Francis and Lou Edna (Gallamore) King and graduated from Wynona High School with the Class of 1940. On December 22, 1939, Marjorie married David S. German, Jr., in Pawhuska. He preceded her in death March 20, 2001. Marjorie worked in the Personnel Office of Richmond Shipyard #2 and for the U.S. Maritime Commission in the Disbursement Section of Shipyard #2 in Richmond, California during World War II. Upon returning to Pawhuska, she worked in the Pawhuska Schools Cafeteria and then served as Church Secretary for the First Baptist Church of Pawhuska for fifteen years. Marjorie was a member of the First Baptist Church for fifty-seven years, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are: her daughter, Marjorie Ruth Mecomber of Fayeville, North Carolina; two sons and daughters-in-law, David J. and Lisa German of Severn, Maryland, and Dennis D. and Susan German of Concord, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, David Silver German, Marjorie Mei German, Katherine Ann German, Alan Keith Mecomber, Adam Kelly Mecomber, Thomas Trevor German and Daniel Drake German; three great- grandchildren; Aiyanna Mei Talkington, Adam Christian Mecomber and Dominic Antonio Mecomber; a brother, James Delbert King of Pryor, Oklahoma, and a host of other family and friends. In addition to her husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister and a younger sister. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 25, at 2:00 p.m., in the First Baptist Church of Pawhuska with Dr. Larry Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in the Pawhuska City Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
