On June 14, 2002 Marilou entered into eternal rest at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa. She was 71 years, 8 months and 13 days. Marilou has lived in Hominy for 43 years. She married Melvin Redeker on June 23, 1951. Marilou was active in the Hominy Community serving on the Board of Directors for Parkview Manor Apartments. She also served three years on the planning and zoning board for Hominy. She was a board member of the Hominy Health Center Services. She served as president of the American Legion Post 142, president for two years. She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. She was an avid follower of the Hominy Bucks Football Team especially when her grandson was a player. She was known as the "Candy Lady." Her friends and family will dearly miss her. Marilou was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, Betty Evans, Erma Higgins, Delpha Clemens, and one brother D. L. Evans. Marilou is survived by her daughter Monica Singmaster and husband Billy Dilley of Hominy, her son Jack "Butch" Clemens and his wife Dianne of Ponca City, one brother Stanley Phelps of Bartlesville, brother-in-law Alvin Clemens of Ponca City, three grandchildren James Singmaster, Rebekah Clemens, and Angela Clemens, a nephew Boby Jack Core of Ponca City, her dear friend Jessica Ellison and family friend Sylvia Rhodes, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other friends. Services for Marilou Redeker were held Tues. June 18, 2002 at Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Harry RedEagle Jr. officiated services and her longtime friend Sylvia Rhodes spoke. Casket Bearers were Jerry Jackson, Joe Dameron, John Israel, Joe Hambright, Tom Phillips, Jr., and Gerald Christy. Honorary Casket Bearers were Jim Osburn, Kenny Wheeler, Timmy Ray and Ronnie Reed. The family entrusted Powell Funeral Home with service arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in the memory of Marilou to the Ministerial Alliance.
