"Andy" was born January 28, 1929, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, the daughter of Milton and Mary Elizabeth (Davis) Clark and was raised in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated from Oklahoma A & M College (Now Oklahoma State University) with a B.A. Degree. She was a member of the Beta Zeta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and was elected by the Sigma Chi Chapter as the "Sweetheart of Sigma Chi." On August 26, 1950, Andy married Joe B. Allen in Ardmore. During the Korean War, while Joe served in the Army, their two oldest children, Claudia and Ben, were born at Fort Bliss, Texas. The Allens moved to Pawhuska in 1953 and established their home there, where four more children were born to Joe and Andy - Mary, Linda, Sue Clark, James Roan and Nancy, who died in infancy. Andy was a Leader of Campfire Girls and Girl Scout troops, taught Sunday School and Bible School and taught her children a love of the outdoors. She was a member of the Fist Presbyterian Church and a faithful volunteer for Christ's Cupboard and Meals on Wheels. Surviving are: her husband, Joe B. Allen of Pawhuska; three daughters; Claudia Ann Dillman and husband, Les of Denver, Colorado; Mary Linda "Lindy" Hudson and husband, Clancy, of Pawhuska; Sue Clark Smith and husband, Walter B., III, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; two sons, Ben Winfield Allen and wife, Susan Gail of Sedan, Kansas, and James Roan Allen of Pawhuska; her mother, Mary D. Roan of Ponca City, Oklahoma; her brother, Sgt Maj. Robert D. Clark (Ret.) and wife, Aurora, of Weslaco, Texas; her sister, Millicent "Mickey" Hawkins and husband, Robert, of Missoula, Montana; eight grandchildren, Lacy and Libby Allen; Joe Clay, Paul and Morgan Hudson; Corbin Smith; and Emma and Hannah Allen; and a host of other family and friends. In addition to her daughter, Nancy, Andy was preceded in death by her father, Milton Clark, in 1937, and her stepfather, James C. "Boot" Roan in 1983. Services will be Thursday, February 7, at 2:00 p.m., in the Fist Presbyterian Church, Pawhuska with Reverend Scott Fischer officiating. Interment will be in the Pawhuska City Cemetery.
