Nadine was born May 5, 1922 in Fairfax to Horace Greely and Maude Rosana (Berger) Burkhart. Nadine was raised in Hominy area attending schools in Hominy and later graduating from Mound Valley. Shortly after high school Nadine was united in marriage to Kenneth J. Moore on March 22, 1940 in Pawnee. Soon after their marriage they moved to Washington County in the town of Ramona where they made their home. Nadine remained in Ramona until her husbands death in 1990. In 1991 Nadine moved to Skiatook. On July 8, 1993 Nadine was united in marriage to Chester Thornton in Hominy. Nadine and Chester moved to Ramona after their marriage. In 1994 Nadine and Chester moved to Hominy where they have resided since. Nadine was also a member of the Church of Christ in Skiatook as well as a member of the Cow Bells. Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Kenneth J. Moore in 1990, two sons Gary L. Moore in 1987 and Monte N. Moore in 1990 as well as a brother Peyton Burkhart. Nadine is survived by her husband Chester J. Thornton, of the home; three sisters, Martha "Tootsie" Key of Sperry; Mary Davis of Skiatook; Jean Crouch of Bartlesville; one brother Mike Burkhart of Bartlesville; five grandchildren Michael Horseman of Ochelata; Douglas Horseman of Ochelata; Billie Franks of Grenola, KS; Buster Moore of Ramona and Cora Lynn Thomas of Ramona; six great grandchildren, Daniel and Kristin Horseman, Scott and Layna Horseman, Masala Thomas and Kenna Jane Moore; three great-great grandchildren Cameron and Katlin Clemons and Kamron Allen; step daughter Brenda and her husband E. W. Carter of Hominy and three step grandchildren Christie, James and Melinda all of Hominy. Funeral services were held Fri. Sept. 27, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Church of Christ in Skiatook and Don Branscum officiated the service. Burial was at the Ramona Cemetery in Ramona under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc. of Cleveland. Pallbearers were Mike Seeley, James Garrett, Blake Davis, Ross Davis, Harold Moore, and Chet Franks.
