BYRD OCNS - February 18, 2000-Napoleon G. Byrd was born March 26, 1896 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of John and Martha (Hawkins) Byrd and passed away February 15, 2000 at the age of 103, in The Pawhuska Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mr. Byrd moved to Pawhuska, Oklahoma a few years ago from Arkansas City, Kansas where he had been a service station attendant prior to his retirement. Surviving are seven children: Eddie McBurl of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; George McBurl of Washington; Martha McBurl of Arkansas City, Kansas; Christine McBurl, Robert McBurl, Lillie Finley and Peggy Owens, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola V. Byrd in June, 1984. Graveside services were held Friday, February 18, 2000 in The Pawhuska Cemetery under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Directors.
