She was reared and received her education in Wynona, Oklahoma. Soon after completing her education, Joyce moved to Hennessey, Oklahoma, where she remained until the early 1980's when she moved to Cleveland. On September 15, 1983 she was united in marriage to Rocky Meade at Walnut Creek State Park (on the Arkansas River, east of Cleveland). Joyce and Rocky made their home in Cleveland where she worked for Homeland, Super H Grocery, Sonic and Cupids in Hominy, Oklahoma. In 2001 Joyce accepted employment with Checks Cashed as a teller. She loved to play pool, fish and work on her computer. Wednesday, June 12, 2002 Joyce passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 49 years 10 months and 23 days. She was preceded in death by paternal and maternal Grandparents. Survived by her husband, Rocky of the home; children, James Glenn and wife Heather Lott, Jr. of Hennessey, Oklahoma; Steven Boyd and wife Leisa Lott of Hennessey, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Jessica, Abby, Brittany, Steven James Lott and Tyler James Lott, parents, James and Vivian Miller of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; sister, Virginia Arnce of Pawhuska, as well as many friends and other relatives. Services were held June 14, 2002 at 4:00 pm, at the Woodland Cemetery Chapel, Cleveland, with Dr. Larry Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc. of Cleveland, Oklahoma.
