The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PAUL NEWTON DAVIS OCNS - September 19, 2002 - Paul Newton Davis, 83, was born September 9, 1919 in Newton, Kansas, the son of Mary Rebecca McNickle and A.M. Davis and passed away September 17, 2002 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Paul grew up in Winfield, Kansas and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1946, during World War II. He was a private man who enjoyed smoking and collecting pipes. In June of 1962 Paul married Jessie Lee McCarthy in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They loved the ten years they spent living in Tripoli, Italy. Jessie preceded him in death in 1987. Paul had made his home in Cleveland for about twenty-three years. He enjoyed traveling while working as a supervisor in the oilfield industry and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Paul is survived by a stepdaughter, Lotus Burnett of Hominy, Oklahoma; a step granddaughter, Diane Adamson of Enid, Oklahoma; a step grandson, Robert Davis of El Cajon, California; five step great grandchildren, Kristin, Brandon, Haley, Chloe' and Kali and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Paul was preceded in death by two step grandsons, Robert Loy and Kevin Davis. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery, Hominy, with Reverend Clifton Phelps officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Powel Funeral Home.
