Virginia Pipkin

CANYON - Virginia Pipkin, 86, of Canyon, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 
1998.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Colonial Chapel Funeral Home 
in Stillwater, Okla., with the Rev. Nancy McCoy officiating. Burial 
will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater. Local arrangements are by 
Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon.

Mrs. Pipkin was born in Custer County, Okla. She was a 1929 graduate 
of Stafford High School. In 1939 she graduated from Oklahoma A&M 
University.

She married Kenneth Sheldon Pratt in 1939 at Winfield, Kan. The 
couple settled in Pawhuska, Okla.

She later taught briefly in Burbank, Okla., and then in San Diego, 
Calif., where she remarried. After retiring in 1977 Mrs. Pipkin moved 
to Canyon. She volunteered at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum 
for several years and was active in the Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Pratt of Canyon and Hal Pratt of 
Pecos; a daughter, Kathleen Jackson of Fannin; four grandchildren; 
and six great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity.
