Powell Memorial Cemetery--Hominy OK The Hominy News - Progress Vol. 34, No. 25 Wednesday, June 19, 2002 Page 5 Mildred McIntosh Potter Mildred McIntosh Potter born on April 19, 1921 to Jessie Robertson McIntosh and Tiger McIntosh in Eufaula. She entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2002 in Sapulpa. She was 81 years old. Mildred was raised in Eufaula, Hominy and Chandler. She graduated from Berryhill High in 1939. She met Andy Potter while working at Douglas Aircraft and they were united in marriage in 1942. She worked in the printing industry for several years then went to work for the U. S. Postal Service where she retired from after 35 years of service. In her retirement, she occupied her time by taking trips to Las Vegas and watching her family grow up. She was a great OU fan and she enjoyed all types of sports. She enjoyed watching her families sporting events and activities. She was a giver taking care of her families every need, whatever it was. She was very proud of her Native American Heritage. She was a Creek Indian and she taught her family to also be proud of their heritage. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother Billy McIntosh. Mildred leaves behind two daughters Judy Potter Hite of Glenpool and Lisa Potter McGrath and husband Marvin of Wagoner; one step-son Marion Andrew Potter and wife Mildred of Lawrence, KS; two grandchildren Kelli Rogers Elrod and husband Harry of Glenpool and Mona Hill Edson Jones and husband Rusty of Dallas, TX; step grandchild Gena Marie McGrath of Branson, MO; Dawn Marie, Tony and Keith Potter and their children; eight great grandchildren Jay Micheal Bible, Nicci Renee McIntosh, Lindsey P. McIntosh, Taylor Paul McIntosh, David Alexander Edson, Zachery Taylor Edson, Andrea Nicole Edson, and Macie Ann Jones; one step great grandchild Jamie Eldrod; five brothers Tiger Junior McIntosh, Jasper McIntosh, James Kenneth McIntosh, Roley McIntosh and Donald "Butch" McIntosh; two sisters Jackie Fish and Jerry Ballard; also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Services for Mildred Potter were held Sun. June 15, 2002 at Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Hominy. Serving as Casket Escorts were John John Carpenter, Lou Fish, Ronnie McIntosh, Mike McIntosh, Roger McIntosh, and Big Don McIntosh. Interment at A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy.
