All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED The Hominy News - Progress Vol. 30, No. 1 Wednesday, January 3, 2001 Page 5 Luetta Elizabeth Powell Luetta Elizabeth "Etta" Powell, a former Cleveland and Osage, Oklahoma resident passed away December 25, 2000 at the age of 90 at her daughter Inez's home in Bixby, Oklahoma where she had lived the past six years. She was born August 14, 1910 in Lutie, Missouri to Alfred Perry and Lucinda Taber Estes. Luetta married Walter Raymond Powell Sr. in Pawhuska, Oklahoma January 17, 1936. They made their home in the Wildhorse, Osage and Skiatook area. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and embroidery and doing ceramics at the Cleveland Senior Citizens Center. Luetta was preceded in death by her husband Raymond on May 19, 1972; both parents; and grandson jay Gordon. Also, she was the last surviving sibling of three sisters; Josie Estes, Goldie Stice and Stella Powell; and three brothers, Frank, Wesley and Arlie "Buck" Estes. Luetta is survived by her children; Georgia Gordon of Mannford, Oklahoma; Bobbie Hulet of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Monda and husband Coyote Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Bud Powell and Signe of Osage, Oklahoma; Inez Powell of Bixby, Oklahoma; and Leon and Carol Powell of Paris, Texas. Also grandchildren Teresa Wilkins of Mannford, Oklahoma; Quinton Gordon of Mannford; Judy Pridgeon of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Jackie Dickey of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Brenda Bergin of Lawrenceberg, Tennessee; Mary Mays of Hominy, Oklahoma; Liz Harzman of Cleveland; Erin Powell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Alan and Robbie Powell of Mannford, Oklahoma; Philip and Megan Powell of Mississippi; sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws surviving are Ida Mac Powell of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Sylvia and George Taylor of Ash Grove, Missouri; Guy Crane of Biloxi, Mississippi, Dora Dean and Gerald Stockon of Aledo, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews along with her beloved pet Pomeranian "Little Bit." In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Hospice in Tulsa, Oklahoma or the Cleveland Portable Meals in Cleveland.
