C." Robinett, 73, longtime Guymon resident died Sat. evening, March 2, 2002, at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County. The son of John Henry and Emma Viola (Fields) Robinett, he was born on Nov. 19, 1928, at Hominy. B. C. moved to Guymon from Cushing in the late 1940's. He was united in marriage to Dortha Cotton at Guymon on Nov. 23, 1966. Mr. Robinett was employed with Phillips Petroleum for 34 years, retiring in 1985. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW Post 1203. B. C. had a country band for 30 years and recorded several songs. He appeared on the Grand Ole Opry and worked with several Nashville artists over the years. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Dortha of the home; one son, John Robinett and his wife, Dalinda of Guyman; one daughter, Elizabeth Bracken of Colorado; one brother, Vic Robinett of Guymon; one sister, Thelma (Jackie) Prater of Guymon; three grandchildren, John Ryan Robinett, Chelsea Robinett and Alexis Hickman; two step-children, Melissa and Mick Martin; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, March 7 at 2 p.m. at the Bunch-Roberts Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Riddles, pastor of the Sunset Lane officiating.
