WHILES OCNS - November 1, 2000 - Ruby M. Whiles, 80, longtime resident of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, passed away in her home, Sunday, October 29, following an extended illness. Ruby was born May 5, 1920, in Osage County, Oklahoma to Charles A. and Ellie (Maxwell) Cass and married Henry C. Whiles November 9, 1942, in Winfield, Kansas. They owned the City Laundry in Pawhuska from 1955 to 1975. Ruby was retired from the Pawhuska School System where she served as the cafeteria manager and cook for many years. She enjoyed shopping and cooking and dearly loved her family. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors in addition to her husband, Henry, of the home include: six grandchildren, Mark McVey and wife, Joanie, of Perkins, Oklahoma; Lou Sellers and husband, Ted, of Pawhuska; Rhonda Wilson and husband, Larry, of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; Clay McVey and wife, Jill of Cushing, Oklahoma; Sandra Dobbs of Henrietta, Oklahoma, and Clara Wilson of Locust Grove; ten great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Additional information provided by Ruby's niece, Cynthia Cass Pradmore - Our dear Aunt Ruby Myrtle Cass Whiles was the daughter of the Late sheriff of Osage County, Oklahoma, (from 1943-1955) Charles A Cass and Ellie L. Maxwell. I would like to share with you that she was a wonderful Aunt, wife, grandmother, mother, sister and friend to many in the Osage County area. She will be greatly missed by so many. Ruby was the Aunt of Daniel Cass, Edna Cass Conley, LeRoy Newton Cass, Charlotte Cass, Jim Maxwell Cass, Cynthia Cass Pradmore, Lila Cass Dooling and the late Charles "Chock" Cass. She was also the Aunt of Pete Cass, Michael Dean Cass, Kathryn Cass, Mary Cass, Pat Cass Carr, Stephanie Volker, Brent Volker. No words could ever express the fullness of this Lady. She was the family strength to us all...and she will be deeply missed. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and her daughter, Lois Ann Wilson. Services were held Wednesday, November 1, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ronald Eldridge of the First Christian Church officiating. Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery and Ralston, Oklahoma with Johnson Funeral Director's in charge of arrangements.
