The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ROSA LEE FRANKLIN OCNS - October 23, 2000 - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 25, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Pawhuska, Oklahoma for Rosa Lee Franklin, 92, who passed away Sunday, October 22, in the Cleveland (Oklahoma) Area Hospital. Mrs. Franklin was born May 25, 1908 in Cartersville, Oklahoma, the daughter of George W. and Mary J. (Davis) Sumner and married Willie Lawrence Smith April 20, 1928. The couple had one son, Willie Paul Smith, who lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mr. Smith died March 16, 1961, and on November 14, 1967, Rosa married Kenneth J. Franklin who predeceased her March 28, 1987. Rosa was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bixby, Oklahoma, and attended the Wynona (Oklahoma) Baptist Church, where she kept the Church Nursery for several years. Survivors in addition to her son, Willie, are: a grandson, Lance Smith of Wynona; a granddaughter, Paula Skidmore of Tulsa; three step-children, Roy Franklin of Pawhuska; Eva Gibble of Tulsa, and Joyce Wagoner of Nash, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Interment will be in the Bixby, Oklahoma Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Directors.
