The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RUSSELL KEENER OCNS - April 18, 2002 - Former resident of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Russell Keener, 75, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Russell was born in Delaware County, November 9, 1926, the son of Heavy and Chiccowie (Cheeter) Keener. He worked at the Smith Out Post from 1970 to 1980 and later worked as a grounds keeper for Phil Hughs at Grand Point on Grand Lake. He is a member of the Cherokee Nation. Survivors include: Four children, Ellis Owens, Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Maudie Ann Taylor, Trenton, Tennessee, Russell Keener, Jr., Richmond, Virginia and Mary Kate Dauber, Pawhuska; two brothers, Scott Keener, Miami, Oklahoma and Ben Keener of Tulsa; a sister, Jo Ann Baker, Fairland, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2002, in the Worley-Luginbuel Chapel, Main and Sixteenth Street, Jay, Oklahoma, with burial in the Jumper Cemetery. Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
