The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SAM HUBBARD FUNERAL SERVICES OCNS - September 12, 1999 - Closed casket services for Samuel Frank Hubbard, Jr., 25, former Newkirk resident, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 16, in the Miller-Stahl Funeral Chapel with Danny W. Cornish, minister of the Newkirk Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Newkirk Cemetery. Mr. Hubbard was born February 26, 1974 in Wellington, Kansas, the son of Samuel Frank Hubbard and Saba (Sutton) Hubbard. He died September 11, 1999 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, of massive head and internal injuries received in a one-vehicle accident west of Pawhuska, Oklahoma on the Atlantic Field Road. Sam received his early education in Argonia, Kansas, until 1984 when the family moved to Newkirk and he finished his education in the Newkirk school system. After leaving school Mr. Hubbard lived in several areas performing a variety of jobs. September 13, 1997 he and Kendra Lowman were married in Newkirk and established their home in Ponca City, where he was employed as an asphalt layer for Evans Construction. His hobbies were fishing and dancing. Survivors in addition to his wife, Kendra, include two sons, Colton and Darrel Wyatt and a daughter, Kelsey of the home in Ponca City; his parents, Darrel and Saba Gregory of Newkirk, three brothers, Shane Gregory of Holtum, Texas, Austin Gregory of Ogden, Utah and Giles Gregory of Newkirk; one sister, Susan Lawrence of Newkirk; his paternal grandparents, Dean and Sonja Gregory of Newkirk and his maternal grandmother and step grandfather, Betty and Lonnie Holley of Harper, Kansas; and his father and step-mother, Samuel Frank Hubbard and Deborah of California. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Sutton, Sr. Casket bearers will be Bob Brandt, Jason Bruce, Darwin Buxton, Earnie Connely, Curtis Eastin and Billy Eckles. A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Hubbard's memory to be put in trust for his three children, through Eastman National Bank, Post Office Box 468, Newkirk 74647-0468.
