She died June 1, 2001 in Cleveland, OK. She was 64 years old. Sonja was a past member of the Elks Lodge in Borger, TX in her spare time she enjoyed reading and rocking in her chair. She is survived by her three sons; Carl Sanders and wife LuAnn of Mannford, Scotty Sanders of Albquerque, NM and Terry Sanders of Fritch, TX; one daughter Sandy and husband Barry Trickey of Fritch, TX; one sister Kathleen and husband Jessie Fast of Prue; three brothers Logan Yarbrough of Cleveland, Tom and wife Jennie Yarbrough of Hominy; and Jack and wife Maudie Yarbrough of Skiatook; one sister-in-law Ada Yarbrough of Prue; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons Doyle Sanders and Steve Patterson, one grandson Jeromy Sanders and five brothers. Church services for Mrs. Sanders were Thurs. June 14, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Prue with Reverend Garry McDevitt officiating. Graveside services were held Fri., June 15, 2001 at 10 a.m. at Westlawn Memorial Gardens in Borger, TX with Reverend Calvin Winters of First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch, TX.
