Sargent Lucinda J. Sargent was born March 12, 1911 to Johnson Keener and Susan Butler Keener in Hulbert, OK. On July 2, 2002 she entered into eternal rest in Cleveland. She was 91 years of age. Lucinda Sargent was raised in Hulbert, then moved to Pawhuska where she attended school. She graduated from Pawhuska High School. After High School she worked at the Whittaker State Home where she was taught how to be a Cosmetology Instructor. She met and later married Elmer sergeant in Pryor. They made their home in O'Fallon, MO., until Elmer retired. At that time they built a home in Pryor. After Elmer passed away Lucinda moved to Hominy and made her home there until her passing. The Sargent's loved to travel, staying in Rio Grande Valley in the winter and Jackson Hole, Wyoming in the summer. Lucinda leaves behind a niece Francis Kilpatrick of Hominy, and a nephew Dudley and wife Joyce Whitehorn of Hominy, one step-son William Sargent of O'Fallon, MO, numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Her parents, her husband, and two sisters preceded Lucinda in death. Services for Lucinda were held Fri. July 5, 2002 at First Baptist Church in Hominy, under the direction of Powell Funeral Home. Officiating services was Rev. Mark Wright. Nappy Cowan, Jorey Cowan, Doug Cowan, Mike Dunlap, Anthony Whitehorn, and Dudley Whitehorn served as casket bearers.
