Powell Memorial Cemetery--Hominy OK The Hominy News - Progress Vol. 34, No. 11 March 13, 2002 Page 5 Hazel Viola Sells Hazel Viola Sells passed away on March 5, 2002 in Bartlesville. She was 72 years old. Hazel was born in Wildhorse, OK on Oct. 1, 1929 to Laura Jane Wilkie and John Wesley Maner. Hazel was raised in Hutchinson, KS. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1943. She married Bill H. Sells on Sept. 28, 1948. Bill worked in the oilfield industry and his work moved them to Wyoming where they started their family. In 1970 they moved back to Oklahoma where Hazel worked as a Nurse Aide for Hominy Nursing Home for 25 years until she retired, she also worked at the Cleveland Area Hospital. Bill passed away in 1900 and she moved to the heritage Villa nursing Center in Bartlesville. She was active in the First Christian Church; she had been a member since 1970. She was active in the community. She was also a Helping Hands Caretaker companion. In her spare time she enjoyed arts and crafts, and cooking. Hazel leaves behind a son Billy Sells of Bartlesville, a daughter Linda Hensley and husband Larry of Hominy, a son Stephen Sells and wife Debbie of Wichita falls, TX, three grandson Joseph and wife Cassie Hensley, Justin Hensley, Stephen A. Sells, and a granddaughter Cryshalynn and husband Tim Howell, one great-grandson Cody Howell. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents Laura and John Maner, her husband Bill H. Sells, a son Virgil Maner, a son Gary Sells, a sister Ruth Maner, a brother Berl Maner, and a sister Carrie Hamlin. Services for Hazel Sells were Sat. March 9, 2002 at the First Christian Church in Hominy with Rev. Phil Snider officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Joseph Hensley, Justin Hensley, Stehen A. Sells, Tim Howell, Brian VanNorman and Ray Bray. Internment were held at A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery. The family entrusted Powell Funeral Home with service arrangements.
