She was 95 years old. Effie was born on May 16, 1906 in Fairfax, to Eva Middlebrook Uto and Jack Uto. Effie was raised and educated in Fairfax, graduating from Fairfax High School. She married J. W. Severns in 1930 and they started a family. J. W. worked on the pipeline traveling all over the United States. They bought a farm in Osage and they farmed up until 1970 when J. W. passed away. Effie stayed on the farm for a few years until she decided to move to town. She moved to Hominy and made her home there until ill health began to take over. She made the most of her last few years living at the Cleveland Manor. Some of her favorite things through her life have been sewing, quilting and crocheting. She also loved to cook, she was a great cook. Effie enjoyed working in her garden, she loved to watch her flowers grow. Effie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. A very devoted and good Christian praying woman. Effie leaves behind a daughter Billie Robinson of Hominy; grandsons, Rodger and wife Deanna Robinson of Prue, Richard Robinson of Hominy and Marshall and wife Judy Robinson of Hominy; granddaughter Cynthia and husband Kenneth Robertson of Hominy; brothers, Bill and wife Mary Uto of Sand Springs and Cecil Uto of Boca Raton, FL; 12 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great- grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Effie was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband John William Severns, two brothers, and a sister. Services for Effie were held Wed. March 13, 2002 at Fairfax Cemetery with Minister Coy Everett officiating.
