Stephens, 82, were conducted last Thursday afternoon in the First Baptist church with the Rev. R. H. Miller, pastor of the Oak Hill Baptist church, and the Rev. Roe Rock, Bartlesville, officiating. Interment was in the Osage cemetery under the direction of the Powell Funeral home. Mrs. Stephens died in a Blackwell hospital November 8. At the time of her death she was making her home with a daughter, Mrs. Alice Morgan, in Blackwell. She was born near Bentonville, Ark., September 9, 1867, and was married to William J. Stephens at Cove City, Ark., in September 1886. In 1904 they moved to Oklahoma and she continued to make her home in this state. She was a member of the Baptist church for the past 60 years and at the time of her death was a member of the First Baptist church in Hominy. Her husband and four children preceded her in death. She is survived by 74 direct descendants, including two daughters, five sons, 29 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. The daughters are Mrs. Morgan of Blackwell and Mrs. A. K. The sons are Bill Stephens, Perkins, Bert Stephens, Woodward, Elmer Stephens, Wynona, and Marion Stephens and John, both of Holtville, Calif.
