Powell Swindell Maxine Agnes Powell was born April 11, 1926 in Wynona to Jeff and Mae Powell. She went to Heaven on Dec. 13, 2001 in Wynona, surrounded by her loving family. Maxine married her husband William E. (Bill) Swindell on Jan. 22, 1944 in Pawhuska. Maxine was a lifelong resident of Wynona. She was a member of the Wynona Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed taking care of children for families in the Wynona area. In her later days one of the children she sat with in her younger days came to sit with her. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She loved Christmas lights and decorations. She enjoyed trips to Branson and fulfilled one of her lifelong dreams on her last trip to Branson. She viewed the lights from a helicopter with her grand-daughters. She enjoyed her trips to K-Mart with Mary and her favorite hobby was working jigsaw puzzles any shape or size. She was a pleasure to be around, a good person. She was a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was always there to help anyone in need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Maxine is survived by 5 children, David and wife Jan Swindell of Broken Arrow; Billy Swindell of Wynona; Ronnie and wife Shirley Swindell of Bowring, Ok; Kathy Martin of Wynona; Vicki and husband Don Lyons of Wynona; 23 grandchildren Linda Green, Billy Swindell, Ronni Cotton, Will Pappan, Judy Mustain, Michael Swindell, Jason Swindell, Alan Swindell, Faith Allison, Tamara Swindell, Cold Swindell, Shawn Swindell, Kim Swindell, Sally Swindell, Allison Pappan, Trance Pappan, Kally Pappan, Dennis Creager; 17 great grandchildren Kirstey Pappan, Dewayne Pappan, Michala Allison, Fonda Cotton, B. J. Cotton, Jessica Green, Chloe Plank, Gabe Plank, Haleigh Plank, Andrew Swindell, Kevin Swindell, Wesley Swindell, Justice Mustain, Sterling Mustain, Shawn Swindell, Makinsey Creager, 2 more on the way; 2 sisters and 1 step sister Mary and husband Kenneth of Hominy, Imogene Groof of Bartlesville, Cecilia and husband Bill Malaske of Pawhuska. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William E. (Bill) Swindell, a daughter Linda Norene Swindell, sisters Dorothy Powell, Allene Martin, and Macie Collum, brother Lawrence (Dee) Powell. Services for Mrs. Swindell were held at 2 o'clock Mon. Dec. 17 at the Wynona assembly of God Church under the direction of Powell Funeral Home. Reverend David Downing officiated services. Serving as Pall Bearers were Will Pappan, Alan Swindell, Michael Swindell, Billy Swindell, Colt Swindell, Jason Swindell, B. J. Cotton (Alternate).
