The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SYBLE STELLA FREEMAN HOPE OCNS - July 27, 2000 - Mrs. Syble Stella Freeman Hope, 85, resident of Barnsdall, died at 3:30 p.m, July 21, 2000 in the Barnsdall Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Hope were held at 11:00 a.m., July 25, in the Parkland Cemetery at Parkland, Oklahoma with Reverend Edgar Beaver of the Barnsdall Freewill Baptist Church officiating. Graveside services and interment were under the directions of the Stumpff Funeral Home Barnsdall. Mrs. Hope was born March 13, 1915 at Avery, Oklahoma to Robert Allen and Stella (Bridge) Shepherd Freeman. She was raised and received her education at Davenport, Oklahoma graduating high school there in 1934. Mrs. Hope was married to Fred Edgar Hope on April 10, 1934 at Chandler, Oklahoma. They made their home in the Kendrick, Oklahoma area until 1937 when they moved to California where they lived for eight years while Mr. Hope was employed in the construction business. Mr. and Mrs. Hope moved back to Oklahoma South of Cushing in 1945 where they began farming until moving to Barnsdall in 1950. Mrs. Hope was employed as a Sewing Machine Operator for the Pawhuska Garment Factory for several years and later was employed at the Barnsdall Public Schools in the Cafeteria until her retirement. Mrs. Hope is survived by one son, Fred Allen Hope and his wife Evelyn of Greeley, Colorado; three daughters, Lois Starr and her husband Earl of Eugene, Oregon, Betty Quillin and her husband Jim of Wynona, Oklahoma and Linda Ambrose and her husband David of Checotah, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; Mike, Craig, Mary, Don, Cathy, Ruth, Ken, Eric, Robbie, Rachel and Ryan; fifteen great?grandchildren Wendi, Chrissy, Johnny, Erin, Vanessa, Jerod, Donnie, Shane, Jessica, Kelly, Jeannie, Amber, Kelsey, Kassidy and Bryce and many other family members and friends who were very special to her. Mrs. Hope was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of fifty-one years, Fred A. Hope on October 24, 1985; one daughter, Irene Mae Hope, born May 30, 1938 and died October 16, 1938; one brother, Melvin Freeman, one sister, Lola Milhoan; one great grandson, Josh Riddle born August 8, 1979 and died May 31, 1999; two half-brothers, Elgin Shepherd and Otto Shepherd and one half-sister, Mabel Hann. Graveside services and interment were under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home, Barnsdall.
