The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ THOMAS JEFFERSON LONGLEY OCNS - February 15, 2001 - Thomas Jefferson Longley, 88, passed away Saturday, February 10, in his home in Seiling, Oklahoma, following a long battle with cancer. Mr. Longley was born May 31, 1912, in Narcissa, Oklahoma, the son of William Henry and Mary Margaret (Brown) Longley. On June 14, 1946, in Sedan, Kansas, he married Wanda Eugean Yates and in 1951, they moved from Oklahoma to Ellis, Kansas, where they lived until 1990 when they returned to Pawhuska, Oklahoma, living there until 1999 when they moved to Seiling. Mr. Longley, a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, retired from Murfin Oil Company in 1976. Survivors in addition to his wife, Wanda, are a daughter, Joyce Gabel of Seiling; three sisters, Ruth Barham of Dewey, Oklahoma, Nancy Walker of Tacoma, Washington and Mary Minney of Pawhuska; one brother, Frank B. Longley of Manhatten, Kansas; two grandchildren, Sean Gabel and his wife, Tera of Guymon, Oklahoma, and Michelle Lemieux and her husband, Mike of Forgan, Oklahoma; four great-grandchildren, Kambri Gabel and Dace, Rance and Dalton Lemieux, and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Longley was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Fanny Wieser and Dolly Panther and two brothers, Gilliam Longley and William Longley. Graveside services were held February 13, in the Pawhuska City Cemetery with Reverend Ronald Eldridge officiating. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
