Dorothy was just seven weeks shy of celebrating her 94th birthday. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2006 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. She was born to Everett and Blanch Gividen on May 4, 1912 in Sperry, Okla. As a child, she moved with her family to Joplin, Mo. She and her sister Agnes (Lou) Waite moved to the Rogue Valley in 1928 where Dorothy met Ernest Woodcock from Foots Creek and they were married September 19, 1929. In 1931, their first child, Betty Ann (Jackson), was born at Graves Creek (Sam's Valley). Later they moved to the Illinois Valley where the family finally located on Deer Creek (Dryden/Selma). It was at this location that they were blessed with five more children; January 1933 - Edward Lewis, August 1935 - Nora Mae (Borge), August 1937 - Thelma (Frazier), May 1942 - Ernest William, August 1948 - Theodore Henry. In 1966, Dorothy, Ernest and their youngest son, Ted moved to Grants Pass, Ore. where they proceeded to build the home that Dorothy resided in until her death. Dorothy always had an abundance of cherries, apples and vegetables to share, as she had a great love of gardening and canning. When anyone walked up to her doorstep, they could enjoy the sweet smell of her flower beds lavish with blooms and a great aroma of a fresh pie baking in the oven. Dorothy is most honorably known for her famous dinner rolls. Ernest worked hard to provide a living for his family and Dorothy worked equally hard at providing their family with wonderful, hand crafted quilts and great tasting meals from her garden. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the Dryden Grange. Preceding Dorothy in their Eternal change of address was her beloved husband, Ernest (September, 1990); two of their daughters, Nora Mae (July 1952), Betty Ann (March 1993); one son, Ernest William (August 1964); four sisters, Berdine (McClure), Delores (Dunkeson), Agnes (Mayberry), Viola (Hardie); two brothers, William and Harold McClure; and one grandson, Stacey Frazier. Survivors include their two sons, Edward (Lou), Ted (Bonnie-Jean); their daughter, Thelma Frazier; granddaughters and grandson, Louise (Ted) LaFon, Beverly McLean, Marilyn (Tim) Igo, Kimberly (Russell) Jump, Nick Woodcock, Shiela (Lonnie) Pelletier, Sheryl (Robb) Pulver, William (Carrie) Woodcock; and many great (10) and great-great (12) grandchildren.
