All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Lakewood Memorial Park--Hughson CA Vallo, Maurine MAURINE VALLO MAY 9, 1925 - OCT. 16, 2006 Among her loving family, Maurine Vallo, 81, of Ceres, CA, died at home on Monday, October 16, 2006. A native of Webb City, OK, she moved to Riverbank in 1939 and had lived in Ceres since 1964 following her husband's retirement from the Air Force. Mrs. Vallo worked in Human Services and Payroll for the US Government, Kmart Corporations, and California Vegetable Concentrates, Ceres. An experienced stage actress, she performed in many little theatre productions throughout the country in areas where her husband was stationed. Her greatest love was for children and many families had Christmas gifts, furniture for their homes, and healthcare because of Mrs. Vallo's personal assistance and advocacy. She is survived by many friends and family, including three daughters, Barbara V. England, Modesto, Laura J. Shumaker, Ceres, Linda. A. Vargo, Ceres, and 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister Helen L. Aderholt and brother, Albert Joe Strain, both of Modesto. Married for 42 years, she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence J. Vallo. Her associations included the Cal Veggie Cats, K-Mart Starters and Girl Scouts Muir Trail Council. Calvary Temple Assembly of God was her home church. Funeral services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2006 in the Prayer Chapel, Calvary Temple Church, on Coffee Road, Modesto. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery. All guests are invited for lunch, the place to be announced. Remembrances may be made in memory of Maurine Vallo to the Financial Assistance Fund, Girl Scouts Muir Trail Council 3621 Forest Glenn Drive, Modesto, CA 95355. The fund provides enrichment activities to girls who otherwise could not participate in scouting.
