Ware Dora M. Ware, a longtime resident of Wynona, died Wed., Jan. 24, 2001 in the Barnsdall Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was 95 years of age. Dora was born on September 5, 1905, in Bellmont. She is the daughter of Robert E. Lee Smith and Mary Maude (Disch) Smith. On February 6, 1922, she married David Clark Ware in Pawhuska. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1980. Dora served as Treasurer for the First Christian Church in Wynona for over 30 years. She was also the Voter Registrar at Wooster Mound for many years. Survivors include: three sons, Gene Ware of Hominy; Dennis Ware and wife, Kathy and Benny Ware and wife, Linda, all of Wynona; two daughters, Doris Ann Ware of Nowata and Lillian Myers and husband, Ralph, of Wynona; one sister, Ella Berg of The Colony, Texas; 19 grandchildren, 36 great- grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Dora was preceded in death by three children: Melvin Ware, Ella Louise Ware and Floyd Ware. Services were officiated by Rev. Phil Snider of the First Christian Church of Hominy. Services were held at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in the Pawhuska City Cemetery. Casketbearers were David Ware, Tom Proctor, John Ware, Lonnie Ware, Wesley Ware, Carlos Vulgamore and Don Stephens.
