The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VIRDA LORENE CHRENSHAW OCNS - April 23, 2002 - Virda Lorene Crenshaw, 80, longtime resident of Fairfax, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday evening, April 20, 2002 at the Shawn Manor Nursing Center, Ponca City, Oklahoma. Virda was born April 30, 1921 at Charleston, Arkansas, the daughter of Jim Wilson and Parlie (Catlett) Wilson. She married John Curtis Crenshaw February 7, 1937 at Booneville, Arkansas and the couple moved to the Fairfax community in 1966. Mrs. Crenshaw was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, cooking, flowers and gardening. She is survived by five sons, Floyd D. Crenshaw of Hominy, Oklahoma, Denny Crenshaw of Meno, Oklahoma, Doyle Crenshaw of Booneville, John D. Crenshaw of Enid, Oklahoma and Samuel Lewis Crenshaw of Moore, Oklahoma; five daughters, Joyce Terry of Enid, Doris Doyal of Burbank, Oklahoma, Wilma Crenshaw of Fairfax, Carolyn Humphrey of Bethany, Oklahoma and Darlene White of Alma, Arkansas; two brothers, Donald Wilson of Fairfax and Lucien Wilson of Perry, Oklahoma and one sister, Lora Belle Fields of Norman, Oklahoma; fifty-seven grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Virda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John on January 3, 1996, one son, Alton L. Crenshaw, one infant daughter, Lois Crenshaw, two brothers, Delbert Wilson and James Wilson and two sisters, Anna Davis and Elewe Crenshaw. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at the Full Gospel Assembly Church of Fairfax with Reverend Lewis Bernard presiding. Interment was in the Fairfax Cemetery under the direction of the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home. Casket bearers were Michael Crenshaw, Aaron Crenshaw, Dale Crenshaw, Brent Doyal, Stuart Crenshaw and Quinton Crenshaw. Honorary casket bearers were Charlie Adair, Greg Emmons, Clark Kent, Jr., Rondall Crenshaw and Jon Terry.
