She was a homemaker. Velma was a member of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. She departed this life on November 15, 2001, at the age of 87 years. Survivors include two brothers, Joe Pillars of Broken Arrow; Glen Pillars of Anaheim, CA. and numerous family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Funeral services was Tues., Nov 20, 2001 at the New Hope primitive Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. Interment followed at the A. J. Powell Cemetery in Hominy. Kennard Funeral Services of Broken Arrow were in charge of the arrangements.
