The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VERNON WILLIAM KESSNER, Sr. OCNS - March 21, 2002 - Services will be held Friday, March 22, in the First Baptist Church, Sperry, Oklahoma, for Vernon William Kessner, Sr., 81, of Prue, Oklahoma, who died Tuesday, March 19. Burial will be in the cemetery at Enid, Oklahoma, where Mr. Kessner was born February 11, 1921, the son of Edward and Josephine Kessner. Mr. Kessner served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later worked as an insurance adjuster for several years before retirement. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law; Vernon Jr. and Susan Kessner of Sperry; a daughter and son-in-law-, Juldean I. And Charles Allred of Big Sandy, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah Quinten and husband, Anthony; Chuck Allred; great grandchildren, Hannah Quinten and Forrest Quinten and other relatives and friends. Mr. Kessner was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Geraldine; granddaughter, Barbara Perkins; grandson, James Allred; two sisters and one brother. The Reverend David Hall will officiate and music will be by vocalist, David King and organist, Shirley Williamson. Johnson Funeral Home of Sperry is in charge of arrangements.
