Powell Memorial Cemetery, Hominy, Oklahoma with the Reverend. Don Reed officiating, assisted by the Reverend William Earl Shaw. Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs conjointly with the Powell Funeral Home of Hominy. Mr. Hoopes was born July 8, 1903, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, and died Tuesday, July 16, in Hobbs, having just celebrated his 99th birthday. He was born July 8, 1903, in Ponca City, Okla. Mr. Hoopes moved to Hobbs from Mannford, Okla., in 1980. He worked as a pumper for Texaco for forty-four years before retiring in 1967. He attended the Assembly of God Church. Survivors include one son, Dale Hoopes of Hobbs; one daughter, Carolyn Ferrera of Renton, Washington; one sister, Cleo Reed of Bristow, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great great- grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife; four brothers; one daughter; and one grandchild.
