Ingalls, jr., also known as Bill to his friends and family of Hominy, Oklahoma, was born June 21, 1935 in North Platte, Nebraska to Wilson L. and Mabel Martha (McCombs) Ingalls. Bill was reared and received his education in Colorado and soon after high school, joined the United States Navy on January of 1955. Bill served his country until he was honorably discharged in January of 1963. He returned to Colorado and was employed as a County Constable and as a Colorado Highway Patrol. In the early 1980's Bill moved to Jennings, Oklahoma and in 1988, accepted employment as the Safety Coordinator with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections at the Dick Conners Correctional Center in Hominy. November 25, 1992 Bill was united in marriage to Norma Hays in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. When he had spare time, he loved to ride motorcycles, work on his computer and do crossword puzzles. Bill passed away August 18, 2002 at his home in Hominy at the age of sixty- seven years, one month and twenty-seven days. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: His wife, Norma of the home; children, Jay Ingalls and Lori Ingalls and sister, Linda Kilpatrick all of Colorado and many other family members and friends. Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 22, in the Chapman-Black Chapel, 108 West Delaware, Cleveland, Oklahoma officiated by Pastor Dan Edens. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m., in the Tamaha Cemetery in Tamaha, Oklahoma (somewhere about sixty miles southwest or southeast of Muskogee, Oklahoma) under the direction of Chapman Black Funeral Home.
