Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 14, in the A.J. Powell Cemetery, Hominy, Oklahoma. Mr. Holden's nephew, Reverend Larry Thomas, was the officiant. Full Masonic rites at the graveside were accorded Mr. Holden by the Wah-Sha-She Masonic Lodge #110. Committal prayers and interment was directed by the Arnold Moore Funeral Service, Bartlesville. Born August 16, 1921 at Wynona, Osage County, Oklahoma, Wiley Jessie Holden was the son of Wiley James and Beulah (Middlebrooks) Holden. He was reared and received his education in the Wynona Community and was graduated with the Wynona High School Senior Class of 1939. He continued his education at the Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University) School of Welding at Stillwater, Oklahoma. He moved to California where he was employed in the Naval Shipyards. Wiley Jessie Holden and Grace Mannon were married at Wynona, and established their home in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. He was employed as a pipeline welder for various pipeline companies and was the owner/operator of the Holden Construction Company, Pawhuska. He and Irene Whitson were married in Stillwater where they made their home. He was employed as an independent consultant in oil production and, following his retirement, continued living in Stillwater until August of 2002 when he moved to Bartlesville to live near his brothers. Wiley J. Holden was a member of the Wah-Sha-She Masonic Lodge #110 in Pawhuska and the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union, Tulsa. Survivors include: One daughter, Mrs. Rick (Patricia Lynn) Perdue of Tulsa; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three brothers, L.J. (Jack) Holden and his wife, Sadie, of Alice, Texas, A.C. Holden and his wife, Ann, of Dewey, Oklahoma and George R. "Dody" Holden and his wife, Myrna, of the rural Sunset Lake community (west of Bartlesville); one sister, Mrs. JoAnn Thomas of Corpus Christi, Texas and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Holden; two sisters, Mrs. Aleen Legal and Mrs. Marie Ward and one daughter, Doris Jean.
