Smith Wanda Berniece Hoover Smith was born in Ottowa County, Oklahoma on January 5, 1918 and died in College Station, Texas on February 4, 2001 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry D. Smith, who died in 1996; and by her parents L. J. "Jake" and Minnie Mae Hoover, longtime Hominy residents. She was a 1936 graduate of Hominy High School. After graduation, she lived in Tulsa and returned to Hominy to live from 1950 until 1955. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Lovington, NM, Beta Sigma Phi, the Order of the Eastern Star, Rebekahs, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Pythian Sisters, the VFW Auxiliary and DAV auxillary. She worked many years with Rainbow Girls, DeMolay, and Theta Rho. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Tom Pennell of Bryan, Texas; granddaughter Andrea Scott and her husband, Tim; grandson Richard Pennell and his wife Melissa of Jacksonville, Arkansas. Services and interment were held in Marble Falls, Texas.
