Friday, Jan. 19, 1912 CARD OF THANKS The News is requested to say for the sons and daughter of Jesse GOINS, deceased, that they are sincerely thankful to their friends for the many acts of kindness and assistance tendered them during their late misfortune. LOCAL NEWS Rev. and Mrs. J.L. DUNCAN of Afton, visited their daughter, Mrs. Robert HALL, south of town last Tuesday, and came through town to see how much Fairland had grown. We acknowledge a friendly call and a renewal. F.M. CONNER and Johnson FALLING went to Vinita, Monday on business connected with the ? O & G railroad. Other enthusiastic workers have been south of town this week. Miss Anna ROSE visited home folks near Ogeechee, Tuesday. Y.E. McCLENDON and Pal HARRISON had business at Seneca, Monday last. J.T. PRICE, south of town, remembered the News in a financial way last Monday. D.W. SLONIKER has been quite poorly the past week with a big pet [?] on the back of his neck. Grandma COX came up from Afton Tuesday evening to visit her daughter Mrs. Sam MAY. Uncle Jim AIKINS of near Miami, was trading here this forenoon. Mr. EURMIN is back at his bench after spending a couple of weeks with home folks in Missouri. Joe MOORE is in off his mail run today, telling about how bad scared he was in last Sunday’s wreck. Bill FLINT had a fine stallion to die here yesterday with the prevailing epidemic that is going the rounds. SHILOH NEWS Mrs. Mary SKELTON has been on the sick list. Little Willie NOEGEL is improving very slowly. Ed BOND and family have moved to Guthrie. Bige CHANDLER bought a span of mules from T.A. ELLIOTT. Miss Jessie McFARLAND spent Sunday with Miss Amy HELM. S. CAMPBELL bought T.A. ELLIOTT’S farm near Shiloh for $1200. J.W. SLONIKER was down from Diamond, Mo., visiting Mr. HELM and to finish moving. OGEECHEE NEWS Mr. and Mrs. WIFORD visited in Ottawa, Sunday. Mrs. TRISLER’s sister is visiting her this week, from Tulsa. Jess ANGEL is happy even in this cold weather. It’s a girl. Prof. FLEMMING was sick last week and we had no school. Mrs. Chas. ANGEL was visited by a number of friends Sunday. Misses Edith and Dorothy WILFORD visited at Mr. BRIDENSTINE’s last week.
