Friday, Nov. 10, 1911 SKELTON-MITCHEL Married—at the home of Uncle Harve WESTON, on last Sunday morning, Gilbert SKELTON and Mary MITCHEL. The bride is the accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John NOEGEL. They have both lived here several years and have many friends who wish them much happiness. After the wedding they returned to the bride’s home, where a splendid dinner was served. They received many useful presents. Those present were: Jerry NOEGEL and family, Mrs. Joe SIMPSON and children, Miss TOMPSON, Edith SKELTON, Alma ROBERTS, Jessie and Jettie JAMES, Clyde SKELTON, Mr. HILL and Cleat and Loach EDENS. A NEW METHODIST MINISTER Rev. L.R. JONES, the former pastor of the M.E. Church South at this place leaves this week for his new charge at Dustin, and is succeeded on this field by Rev. W.A. FRAZIER, a young minister with a small family. Rev. FRAZIER will come upon the field and take charge of the work at once. The district also has a new Presiding Elder, Rev. E.M. SWEET, who is well known in this part of the state, having once served as president of the Anti Saloon League of Indian Territory. Rev. BYERS is retained at Grove, and Rev. CROW was sent back to Welch. Rev. A.B.L. HUNKAPILLAR is the new man at Afton, and Miami gets Rev. J.S. WILBANKS for a change. Conference made many changes in both pastors and elders. HUDSON CREEK Fred LEE called at Mr. WINTERS last Sunday night. Jennie JAMES called on home folks last Monday. Mrs. Dow FLINT visited Mrs. J. EDENS, last Tuesday. Chas. EPPS visited his father last week, who was very sick. Mrs. John NOEGEL visited Mrs. Jerry NOEGEL one day last week. Len CONNER and family spent Tuesday with Wid GAINES and family at Narcissa. Cleat and Loach EDENS attended the wedding of Gilbert SKELTON and Mary MITCHEL, Sunday. Mr. FOLLIS had a very sick cow the first of the week. He thought it was caused by turning her in the stalk field. LOCAL NEWS Miss Minnie WOODSON visited Afton, Tuesday. L.L. WHITE has been on the puny list this week. Mrs. P.V. SUTTON came up from Vinita, Monday. J.B. THORNHILL his now an agent for Kendle and Muskogee oil. Miss Elsie SUTTON went to Vinita Wednesday to visit her papa. Mrs. Bert ADKISON orders the News to her mother, Mrs. LADD at Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. R.T. BURGESS, of near Pryor, visited their daughter Mrs. Rev. JONES here this week. Mrs. GILBERT, who had been visiting her parents south of town returned to her home at Muskogee, Tuesday. T.E. ELLIOTT made a trip to Oswego the first of the week and brought his father back who had spent the summer there. The HAWARDS sold the Red Front restaurant last Saturday to A.L. HOPPER, of Delaware county, who assumed charge at once. Wm. CASTLE visited Vinita last Sunday. Solon JAMES orders the News to Clifford WILLIAMS, at St. Louis. Mrs. Fred MILBURN returned last week from her trip to Nebraska, and Fred looks better. Miss Lee KINNEY, who had been visiting Mrs. W.P. HOWARD, returned to her home at Wanda, Mo., Saturday. Crawford CONNER dropped in last Saturday and renewed his subscription to the little home paper, and had it sent to his sister-in-law, Miss Jennetta BALLARD, at Tahlequah. Tom GIBSON is the proudest papa in town, because this last one is a boy. Mrs. J.S. MOORE returned on Friday last from a week’s visit with her mother at Pleasanton, Kas. Sam CAMPBELL was telling it on the streets last Sunday afternoon, and we suppose it’s true. He said it was another big black-headed boy. Miss Kathleen LINCOLN came down from Springfield last Friday evening to take a few day’s vacation from Drury College. OGEECHEE NEWS Mr. WHIPKEY is building him a new house. Mrs. Dome JONES has gone back to Tulsa. Mrs. ADAMS’ little children have been sick but are better. Mrs. BLACKWELL is improving nicely. She is eating solid food and is gaining strength.
